Manage

Files

Manage access and lifecycle settings for newly uploaded files.

Overview

The Files settings page lets you define the default behavior for files uploaded in your Org. In the Manage platform, you can configure these settings in the Files section.

These settings apply to newly uploaded files and help you control both visibility and retention without having to configure each file manually.

Available Settings

The page contains two groups of settings:

  • Access controls whether newly uploaded files are visible to anyone or only to members of your Org.
  • Lifecycle policies control whether newly uploaded files are automatically archived or deleted after a number of days.

Access

Under Access, you can enable the Private Files toggle.

  • When enabled, newly uploaded files are only visible to members of your Org.
  • When disabled, newly uploaded files are not restricted by this Org-only privacy setting.

Use this setting when uploaded files should stay internal by default.

Lifecycle Policies

Under Lifecycle policies, you can configure automatic retention rules for newly uploaded files.

Archive after days

Set Archive after days to automatically archive new files after the specified number of days.

  • Leave the field empty if files should not be archived automatically.
  • Use this when files should remain available for a limited period before being moved out of active use.

Delete after days

Set Delete after days to automatically delete new files after the specified number of days.

  • Leave the field empty if files should not be deleted automatically.
  • Use this when uploaded files should expire after a fixed retention period.

Notes

  • These settings affect newly uploaded files.
  • Leaving the lifecycle fields empty disables automatic archiving or deletion for new uploads.
  • If both lifecycle fields are configured, make sure the values match your intended retention policy.
